Project Description :
SJK (T) Ladang Sg. Baru is a small-sized schools primary school in rural areas located in remoteness area of Masjid Tanah, Melaka with poor construction quality and lacking of school facilities. They are in urgent need of constructing, rebuilding and expanding the teaching and living facilities including classroom buildings, canteen, library & etc.

Lions Club of Melaka Ayer Keroh took up the challenge to build two classrooms and one canteen for the school with total cost involved of RM180,000 in year 1999. The project were jointly supported financially by Lions Club of Yoro Japan (USD10,000), Lions Club International Foundation, LCIF (USD10,000) and remaining are donation from club members and public.

To improve the infrastructure for rural education in rural area. Students will be able to leave dangerous and study in a safe, spacious and bright campus instead. It will help improve their mental and physical health as well as academic performances.

Project Description :
This is the annual signature community service event for Lions and family members at Lions Club of Hang Tuah Jaya work together to help care for our senior population ever since the club had been chartered in 2011. Cultural events were performed by lions which included singing and dancing to cheer up the elderly. Essential items such as rice, crackers, adult’s diapers, Milo, oats, mugs and old clothes were raised and donated to the old folks homes.

The Ministry of Education has included co-curricular activites as a compulsory part of the education process for all students. Co-curricular activities provide a number of values like development of social, civic, physical, recreational and cultural values.

Donor: Past President, Lion Datuk Liow Yit Lee, a successful corporate man who owns QM Sports Sdn Bhd donated 500 sets of Scout Uniform costing RM50,000.00. Needy students from 20 secondary schools in 6 Scout Districts in Melaka benefitted from this donation.

Distinguished Lions: Guest of Honour Centennial District Governor Lion Sashekala Pathmanathan; Cabinet Officers; Club Presidents and 30 Lions.

Distinguished Scouts: YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Paduka Dr Hj Shafie bin Hj Mohd Salleh, Ketua Pengakap Negara and YBhg Datuk Dr. Hj Md Sirat bin Abu, Timbalan Yang Di Pertua PPM and a total of 450 scouts in uniform.

Speech: President Lions Club of Malacca Lion Helen Agoh represented The Lions delivered a welcoming speech.

YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Paduka Dr. Hj Shafie bin Hj Mohd Salleh presented a speech for the occasion.

Presentation of Long Service Award: 12 Appreciation Awards were presented to The Senior Scouts in recognition for their long and dedicated service.
